Utagawa Kunisada(Utagawa ToyokuniⅢ) 1852 Mashiba Hisayoshi refers to Hashiba Hideyoshi, a famous feudal lord of the Sengoku period who has also been portrayed in a kabuki play. In this play, when Ishikawa Goemon decides to instigate a rebellion at Nanzenji Temple in Kyoto, a stage prop rises up and Mashiba Hisayoshi appears in disguise, dressed as a pilgrim.
