解説 |
Utagawa Hiroshige 1830~44 The subjects of tanzaku-e (paintings on strips of fancy paper made for writing poetry) were mainly birds, flowers, and natural beauty. Of all the ukiyo-e artists, Hiroshige produced the most tanzaku-e. This work is accompanied by a poem in Chinese. It looks more like a Chinese landscape painting painted with a brush than an ukiyo-e. As for the composition, it shows a path on Enoshima leading to the cave on the right, while a big wave in the foreground adds an accent. Islands far in the distance are misted over and, along with the depiction of boats, enable the work to exude a profundity of the sort characterizing ink wash paintings. |
