Yoshida Hatsusaburou 1934 1934, Keikyu Corporation and Shonan Electric Railway In April 1933, Shonan Electric Railway commenced direct operations between Shinagawa and Uraga on a mutual basis with Keihin Electric Railway. However, competition from the extension of the Yokosuka Line forced the company to rationalize its operations, and in November 1941 it was merged with Keihin Electric Railway and Shonan Peninsula Motor Company, both of which had capital ties with Shonan Electric Railway, and Shonan Electric Railway was dissolved. The merged Keihin Electric Railway is the predecessor of the current Keihin Electric Railway. |
