 Soshu Enoshima Shimonomiya

解説かいせつ

 This hanging scroll depicts Enoshima Benzaiten. The characters ”Soshu, ”Enoshima, ”and ”Shimomiya ”can be seen on the jewel at the top of this figure. A charm for Enoshima Shimonomiya Benzaiten exists that is very similar in composition and dimensions to this drawing. To the right of Benzaiten is Daikokuten, to the left is Bishamonten, and below them are his followers, the fifteen children. Daikokuten and Bishamonten, like Benzaiten, are also well known as gods of wealth and fortune.
