解説かいせつ

 Utagawa Kunisada (Toyokuni III) 1863 The procession is marching through the street of the Daimachi of Kanagawa Post Station. In the foreground, travelers, who happened to be there in the middle of a journey, are gazing at the procession from a distance. There are several two-story teahouses at the Dai-machi’s slope, and it is said, visitors can enjoy the spectacular view from these teahouses. In this picture, a woman can be seen at a two-story of the teahouse looking into the distance through a telescope.
