This print depicts a fight between Soga Gorō Tokimune and Gosho Gorōmaru Shigemune. During Minamoto-no-Yoritomo’s large-scale hunting expedition in 1193 at the foot of Mt. Fuji, the Soga brothers carried out their revenge. Sukenari, the older of the two brothers, was slain by Nitta Shirō Tadatsune, a retainer of Yoritomo. Tokimune, the younger brother, attempts to carryout their vendetta and enters Yoritomo’s encampment in an attempt to attack him, however was captured by Gosho Gorōmaru.
