Utagawa HiroshigeⅡ 1854 The scenery of Satta Pass, which was located between Yui post station and Okitsu post station, is seen from Okitsu side. Satta Pass was known with its magnificent view of Mt. Fuji. This picture makes viewers to imagine that the travelers, who climb the steep slope of the mountain pass, will enjoy the superb view of Mt. Fuji in the morning glow from the top of the pass.Originally the Toukaidou Highway was situated along the ocean under the cliff, but it was a dangerous road where the wild waves washed the foot of cliff. The mountain pass where people can enjoy the great view of Mt. Fuji is newly constructed one.
