Utagawa Hiroshige The production date:1840 Travelers and village people caught in a sudden shower are covering their heads and bodies with straw hats and mats, rushing for shelters. On the left, a temporal tea stall is depicted, and people who escaped from the rain have a rest. This series of ukiyo-e is called “The Toukaidou with Kyouka Poems” since a kyouka poem is assorted to every ukiyo-e picture.
