解説かいせつ

 Utagawa Hiroshige The production date:1840 The bank of Oi River at Kanaya side is illustrated.In this picture, the scene with many Hirarendai are prepared at the bank is illustrated. Hirarendai was things like ladders that carry baggage and travelers. This series of ukiyo-e is called “The Toukaidou with Kyouka Poems” since a kyouka poem is assorted to every ukiyo-e picture.
