解説かいせつ

Utagawa Hiroshige 1840 The scenery with the people crossing a bridge that spanned over the Yui River, locate at the west side of Yui post station is depicted. People crossed over the Yui River by by kachi-watashi (Men porters who carried travelers to cross them over the river by walk.) during summer time. During winter, people used a temporal bridge that spans over the Yui Rirver. The Serpentine river that extends to the left emphasizes the depth of the picture.
