Utagawa Hiroshige 1840 The scenery of Rokugou River, which is viewed from the west bank of the river is illustrated. The scenery of many people riding on the ferry boats that cross over the river suggests that the traffic was heavy around Kawasaki post station. People paid the fee of ferry boats ticket at a simple hut river office, which is depicted on the left. Variety of people who traveled along the highway, such as a parent and a child waiting for the boats and women having a nice conversation are also depicted. |
