解説 |
Nipponzaemon was a historical figure. He was the head of a robbers’ band during the Edo period. Inspired by the Nipponzaemon’s name, the name of a robber, a character of a kabuki play “Aoto-Zoushi Hana no Nishiki-e“, better known with the title of “Shiranami Gonin Otoko (Five Notorious Thieves)” became Nippondaemon. The depicted figure is a kabuki actor Matsumoto Koushirou VI who was known with his premier villainous roles. |
