Ikeda Youson Production date:1926-1936 Ikeda Youson was born in Okayama. He first studied Western style panting at Osaka, and studied Nihon-ga, or Japanese style painting from Takeuchi Seihou. Youson was greatly influenced by a poet, Taneda Santouka and traveled all over the country with the outfit of Santouka, and produced many sketches of the landscapes of various provinces. He was also influenced by Utagawa Hiroshige, and went on sketching tour along the Toukaidou Highway by walk. He produced many works of the Toukaidou, and this work is one of them.
