 Youshu Chikanobu 1867-1907 The women divers who catch octopuses and waiting women on a boat are illustrated. In the picture, the situation of divers and octopuses are flipped and the divers are caught by gigantic octopuses. Youshu Chikanobu gained his fame with his pictures of beauties during the Meiji period and he produced many genre pictures that captured the customs of new Westernized era.
