解説かいせつ

 Artist: Youshu Chikanobu 1885 The scene that Oguri Hangan from Hitachi Province, who heard a rumor of a beauty, Princess Terute, comes all the way to Sagami Province is illustrated. Oguri turns his face to the direction of a piece of paper tied to a cherry-blossom tree, which is considered a love letter that Terute wrote to Oguri. Shouyou Chikanobu was an artist who gained his fame with his beauty pictures and established the proto-type of beauty of new era during Meiji Period.
