Mt. Oyama commissioned Gonda Naosuke, a scholar who studied Japanese thought and culture, for the reconstruction of the temples, after it was severely damaged by the Shin-Butsu Bunri (Separation of Shintoism and Buddhism) policy took place during the early Meiji period. He founded “Oyama Keishin Church” by organizing all the small unions formed by worshippers of Mt. Oyama. The information of inns and hotels for the members are listed in this booklet. More than that, the guides of the road to Mt. Oyama and its periphery, post stations, and the mile stones to Mt. Oyama are also described in this booklet. |
