解説かいせつ

Publisher: Subara-ya Mohei 1847 (Kouka 4) Bukan was the who’s who dictionary of the warrior’s class, that the names, stipend, salary and family crests of the high-rank daimyou and government officials of Edo Bakufu are recorded. Not just within the warriors class, the merchants who conducted business with daimyou and the officials of the post station who accepted the member of daimyo’s procession had to distinguish the clients, therefore this dictionary was used practically. This book was also used as the guide book for the town for the Edo travelers. The exhibited work is the portrait of the Lord of Toutou Mikakegawa Clan Ota Settsu-no-kami Sukekatsu who was the descendent of Ota Doukan (The great lord who established the main infrastructure of Edo).
