1840 (Tempou 11) This is a douchu-ki (chronicle of journey) that shows the travel route of Japan with pictures. In this picture, the milestones from Edo to Kyoto, Osaka to Nagasaki via the Toukaidou Highway and path to the famous places such as Ise and Yamato are illustrated. At the back side of the map, the path from Kyoto to Senju through the Kiso Highway and the destination to Oshu-Matsuyama are summarized. The colored pictures are attached to the route to the famous places such as Ise, Yamato, Osaka and Shikoku. |
