解説 |
No.33 and No.34 share a consecutive background depicting the snowscape of Yahagi Bridge spanning over Yahagi River. The figures in the foreground are Karaki Masaemon and his wife Otani from the kabuki play Igagoe Dochū Sugoroku (The Sugoroku Game of Crossing Iga). These prints depict the characters during the “Scene of Okazaki”, in which Otani visits Masaemon in the snow carrying a newborn. The actors assigned in these prints are Nakamura Utaemon IV as Masaemon and Onoe Baikou IV as Otani. |
