解説 |
Wrritten by Kanagaki Robun Illustrated by Ochiai Yoshiiku 1860 Yaji and Kita are jokingly striking poses around an itinerant monk with a bamboo hat they met on the way. Yaji is imitating a kabuki actor and introducing himself, “I’m not Naritaya but Tochimenya (Yaji’s trade name).” Tochimen were noodles made from horse chestnut flour mixed with wheat flour and buckwheat flour and eaten like udon. As it hardens quickly and must be prepared with speed, the cooker chaotically shakes the tochimenbō stick, to which a restless and flustered person was likened. Therefore, Yaji who is constantly making a fuss is named Tochimenya. |
