解説かいせつ

Yoshiiku Ochiai Three horse guides are fighting. Not only Yaji and Kita but also a horse looks at them coldly in this comical scene. Horse guides were people who transported goods on horses or by horse carriage. Hodogaya-shuku had many tonyaba (places managing people and horses that carry luggage for the shogunate’s official travelers and feudal lords) across 40 villages, from Sugita Village (present Isogo Ward, Yokohama City) to Naruse Village (present Machida City, Tokyo).
