解説 |
Mt. Fudesute (Mt. Iwane) is known as a place where Kanō Motonobu (Hōgen) threw away his painting brush because he could not draw the magnificent scenery. Hōgen was a rank given to painters becoming a monk. The text in the work says an ordinary painter picked up the thrown brush and drew this work. This work illustrates travelers taking a rest on a bench of a tea house while looking at the beautiful scenery. A Western umbrella is subtly set against the bench. |
