A street scenery of a port town, Yokkaichi city is illustrated. A ship mast from the ship docked at the Yokkaichi Port can be seen at the back. The cherry-tree lined pass illustrated at the center of the picture draws the attention of audience. Using the newly introduced bright red pigment, such as the cherry tree color of this picture, is one of the distinctive features of the Meiji period ukiyo-e. |
