解説かいせつ

 A man in Western clothes is among the travelers looking at the Enshū Sea from Shiomizaka. Located right before Shirasuka, Shiomizaka was famous for its scenery. It was the first spot with an ocean view on the way from Kyoto to Edo, and the last spot with the view of Mt. Fuji on the way from Edo to Kyoto.
