解説かいせつ

 Utagawa HiroshigeⅡ 1863 Yoshida post station was located at today’s Toyohashi. The bridge that spans over Toyogawa River was also called Toyohashi Bridge (It was also called as Yoshida Ohasi). The Toyohashi Bridge is one of the largest and preeminent bridge along the Toukaidou Highway, and its this view of the bridge, the river and the castle simultaneously captured in one picture that became popular; this scene had been frequently illustrated in other studies of The Toukaidou Post Station.
