Artist: Utagawa Hiroshige The production date: 1844-47(Kouka era) From the left, the arc shaped Shichiri-ga-hama Beach is illustrated. In the distance, starting from the right, Mt. Oyama, Shichimen-zan, Tatsu-no-kuchi, Katase, Nanogo Beach, Mt. Fuji followed by Hakone, and Enoshima Island are illustrated. A woman illustrated in the middle is a traveler returned from the pilgrimage to Enoshima Island. She might visit the old temples of Kamakura afterword, moving toward to Kamakura by taking a route of Shichiri-ga-hama Beach. At the right, woman riding an ox leaded by a child, and her attendant follows by walk are illustrated. In the middle, a woman is gathering seashells. At the left,a traveler heading to the Enoshima Island is illustrated. A woman is about to take a rest and she is trying to get off from the palanquin. Beside the woman, a palanquin porter is wiping off the sweat and the other porter is preparing the zouri sandals for the lady. |
