This work illustrates the landscape of Enoshima Island viewed from Koshigoe in present-day Kamakura. The steep feature illustrated on the right is thought to be Koyurugi-misakai Cape.
A hill and the cape frame the foreground with the shoreline of Shichiri-ga-hama beach in between. Enoshima and Mt. Fuji are depicted in the background. The size contrast between the objects in the foreground and the background creates depth within the composition. Additionally, depicting Enoshima along the horizon creates a strong visual emphasis on the island.
