 The Sugoroku Board Game of Imperial Visit

解説かいせつ

 This illustration is seemingly showing the course of “Miyuki” ―the route Emperor and the Emperor Emeritus travelling away from his palace. This seemingly old, simply printed edition has over a hundred names of geographical places described in its space that include popular tourist spots. It starts at Ousaka, visiting places such as the Ise Shrine, Enoshima Island and Kamakura reaching the goal in the Edo city. Enoshima Island is reached by a sand bar from the Fujisawa Post Station.
