Kuwagata Keisai, a master of the bird’s eye view, also had a high reputation for his illustrated copybooks. There are several series of abbreviated drawing styles, and all of them accurately capture their subjects with few brushstrokes. This work is a reprint from the Meiji era and takes famous places as its subjects. Abbreviated Drawing Styles for Landscapes takes up famous places including Edo, the Toukaidou, the eight scenic sights in the province of Omi, and Kyoto, as well as Enoshima and Kamakura.
