This work emphasizes Japan's highest mountain, Mount Fuji, in a composition that seems to show the entire Kanto region at its foot of the mountain.
There is the "Omote trailhead" at Fujinomiya, where Sengen Shrine is located; the "Gotemba trailhead", which is easily accessible by rail; the "Subashiri trailhead", which was often used for descents; and the "Yoshida trailhead", which climbs from the north side of Mount Fuji. On each of the four trailheads, Torii (gateways) stands, indicating that they are the paths of the Fugaku faith.
