Wrritten by Kanagaki Robun　 Illustrated by Ochiai Yoshiiku Oi River was not so deep, but it was a wide river and its stream was rapid. When this region suffered from flooding, travelers could not cross the river, thus the crossing of the Oi River at Shimada, was known as the hardest point on the Toukaidou Highway.

Wrritten by Kanagaki Robun　 Illustrated by Ochiai Yoshiiku There are two blind men and one of them tries to carry the other on his back to cross a river. Kita-san, who see the situation, pretends to be a blind man and let the blind man to carry him to cross the river. However, as the blind man realizes that the person whom he carries is not his partner, he drops off Kita-san into the river.

Wrritten by Kanagaki Robun　 Illustrated by Ochiai Yoshiiku When Kita-san finds out that two blind men who he met by the river are drinking sake (liquor) at a teashop, he quietly gets close to them and steals sake from them.
