歌川廣重 1855 正如標題所示，在程谷（保土谷）的畫中描繪有保土谷宿和戶塚宿的境木立場（宿驛和宿驛之間的休息場所）。這裏以景色優美而聞名，從畫的正面看上去，描繪的遠山是鎌倉山。

歌川國芳/歌川廣重 1844-47 這是本系列作品中唯一的一幅廣重與國芳的合作作品。廣重是在上部的扇形框中繪製的大津繪。大津繪是江戶時代在大津宿作為土特產來銷售的畫作。國芳是在畫面下部描繪的歌舞伎劇目中的登場人物畫師又平和他的妻子。又平是大津繪的畫師，因患口吃之疾遭到輕視、總也不能獲得姓氏，這使他非常絕望，決定留下最後的作品，然後自我了斷自己的生命。當他把自畫像畫到石頭水缽上時，畫蹟竟然穿透到石頭的背面，他因此奇蹟而被賦予又平的姓氏。

Utagawa Kuniyoshi 1844-47 Fujiwara no Hidesato, who is also known by the name of Tawara no Tota, was a famous battle commander from the Heian period (794-1185). The depicted scene is a famous episode from Tawara Tota’s life, which is known as “Slaying the Great Centipede''. The woman depicted on the right is a dragon goddess who lives in Lake Biwa who recruited Tota to kill a monstrous centipede. The part of the woman’s hair immersed in the water is depicted as the scales of a dragon.

Utagawa Kuniyoshi 1844-47 The depicted scene is from a legend about ogre extermination at Mt. Suzuka by Sakanoue no Tamuramaro, the famous general from the Heian Period (794-1185). Protected by Kannon, the goddess of mercy, who is depicted in the upper part of the picture, Lady Suzuka, who wears an Edo period kimono garment (1603-1868) helps Tamuramaro. It seems that the ogre does not notice Tamuramaro, who is trying to kill him.

歌川國芳 1844-47 畫中武士的右側寫著「佐佐木高綱」，讓人以為是高綱經歷過的一個場面。實際上是明智佐馬助（戰國武將明智光秀的女婿）在被敵人逼入絕境時，策馬渡過琵琶湖的軼事。在江戶時代，描繪戰國武將的行為被嚴格禁止，所以畫師們都是使用其他人物形象進行影射的方式來逃避禁令。 在畫的詞書中還記載道，莊野附近有個植野村，那裡是高綱駕馭的名馬「生食」的出生地。

歌川國芳 1844-47 這幅畫描寫了平安時代用和歌編寫的「伊勢物語」中的一個情節。畫中人是平安時代的貴族公子，當他看到美麗綻放的菖蒲花，為思念留在都城的心上人不禁潸然淚下。這是一個眾所周知的場面。
